Each spring special classroom teachers (ie., art, music) are asked to refer exceptionally able students for identification as gifted in visual performing arts.  They do this through as series of auditions, portfolio, and/or performance evaluation.

Two measures are used to identify students.  The Scales for Rating the Behavior Characteristics of Superior Students is employed for art and music along with the Ohio Department of Education Guidelines.

At this time, the Ohio Department of Education requires identification of students, however, service is not mandated.  While teachers use this information to help provide appropriate educational experiences for children, we strongly encourage you to take advantage of the following opportunities.
