Congratulations to the Brainstorms, the Morrison-Gordon and West Elementary FIRST Lego League team who won the research project trophy, came in 4th in the robot game, and achieved third place overall in the Chillicothe-Ross County FLL Regional Qualifier tournament on December 17, 2011. With their performance, the team qualified to compete in the Dublin District Tournament, the next step towards the state championships.
FLL is composed of three elements: a robot game where the teams must design, build and program an autonomous robot made of Lego pieces; a research project where the teams must research a problem relating to the theme challenge, propose a solution, and tell others about their findings; and a Core Values component that assesses teamwork and the values of Gracious Professionalism.
The team will travel to Dublin on January 7, 2012 to compete against 21 other teams from the greater Columbus area.
